The game takes place ten years after the death of the series' long-time antagonist, Geese Howard, and follows a new main character- Geese's estranged son Rock Howard, who has come under the tutelage of an older and wiser Terry Bogard, the hero of the previous games and Geese's primary rival. The game was initially released in Arcades worldwide on November 26, 1999, followed by a Neo Geo port on February 25, 2000, a Dreamcast port on Novemand a PlayStation 2 port released exclusively in Japan on June 30th, 2005. Garou: Mark of the Wolves, released initially under the localized name Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves, is the ninth and currently final entry in the Fatal Fury franchise, developed and published by SNK based on their Neo Geo MVS arcade cartridge system.
